What this is

here is for the hours you have free and nobody around to spend them with. An afternoon, a Sunday, the gap between finishing work and going home.

You open it and say you are free: where you are, what you feel like doing, and how long you have. It looks for one to three other people nearby who said the same thing at the same time. You see a photo and a first name, they see yours, and you each say yes or no. If everybody says yes, it gives you a public place to meet and how to recognise each other when you get there. If somebody says no, nobody is told and nothing happens.

You do fill in a profile when you join: a first name, a photo, roughly your age, the languages you speak and a few things you are into. Nobody browses it. There is no directory, no search, and nobody can look you up afterwards. The only person who ever sees it is somebody you have both already agreed to meet. There are no messages to write and nobody to swipe through. Everybody has had their ID checked, so the people who turn up are real. It is for making friends, not dating. It is free, and it runs in your browser, so there is nothing to install.
